Friday
Bunbury 2005 started on Friday the 3rd of June. It was on this night that about 5 of us, from Willetton 15A girls, headed down to Bunbury to stay at the Wander Inn for the Bunbury Tournament.
The first thing that took place (after picking beds of course) was a game of pool, in which Annie and myself played against under 13's Erin and Karla and unfortunately we were put to shame by, yes that's right, losing!
After this we decided it was best to stay in our room, with the arrival of Jess, Jodie and Laura on the way it would be much more fun in there. Our first mission prank call Laura about a chinese take away, Great voice aye AJ.
So finally Jodie and Laura arrive and the infamous debate over who gets which bed began. Laura would pick a bed and Jodie would very quickly claim that she wanted that one, Laura picks another bed and again Jodie wants it, Laura finally gives up and says fine i'll sleep on the floor and guess what Jodie said, fine so will I. It was then a fight for who got which matress.
We continued on to play the oh so famous UNO, now it was going just fine until things were thrown, things such as M'n'Ms and Chips, normally i love throwing food but you know it's not that great when it's being thrown at you!
This Food throwing lead to our next round of fun, throwing it into the room across the hall which contained some older guys which we had never met, we left a note saying enjoy from your friendly neighbours, however i guess they didn't like it when the food was thrown back at us, it was like a shower of chocolate and chips. This intial food and note throwing followed into a note of deep sorrow about the rejection of our offering of food, and after a few more notes it was indeed time to give our names, yes our all so famous new names, Annie all of a sudden became Kalia, Jodie became Gemima, Laura was now Brooke, Jess was dear Betty and I turned into Gezza!!
Now this note writing continued on throughout the night, until after our trip to the bathroom via the 'Rat Run', one of our favourite parents came in and told us to pretty much Shut Up! But you see the guys hadn't finished writing notes and it being slid under our door led us to believe that someone was out there, until some wise voice spoke up and said it was a note, and then with a stunning dive from Laura it was confirmed that it was in fact a note. I must say that the guys writing was indeed the worst writing i've ever seen and reading it by phone light was not actually easy.
Saturday
Saturday morning was a reasonable start for girls that had been awake most the night, 9am. Unfortunately the first words heard that morning were not a good sign, these were the exact words we woke up to, Annie: "Where's my pants?" she's a sleep stripper apparently!!
Our first duty of the day was to eat and get ready to go and start playing some hockey. But of course the minute we'd done that we picked up where we left off with writing notes to the guys across the hall and challenging them to a UNO game which they accepted however when the game time came they were no where to be seen and stood us up. HOW RUDE!!
Anyways by now a few others had started to show up and we were happy to head off to the playing fields for our first day of games.
Our first game was against UWA, and unfortunately it was on grass :(. It was in this game that i was dealt a hard blow through the shin pad and forced to sit the rest of the game off. This game just wasn't for us and we came off second best and in the words of Annie, "Another one bites the dust".
We then had a four hour break in which we listened to some music, watched the 13's and just generally chilled out.
Our second game saw me put the goalie pads on as my shin pad no longer fitted. I accidently offended the little U11 goalie behind me by saying he was cute in the pads....he didn't find it that amusing. Anyway by half time we were 1-0 down and by the end of the game it was increased to 3-0, not bad considering last time I was goalie it was something like 17-0 against my team.
It was after this game that we headed back to the Wander Inn to chill out before our last game of the day. It was our only turf game of the tournament and it was agaisnt UGS. We really started this game well and came off at half time with it staying 0-0. By the end of the game it was 3-0 and unfortunately we weren't on the winning side. This was the one game that we really deserved to win and it truly was "A big fat Bummer" and once again we were forced to say "Another one bites the dust".
We then headed back to the Wander Inn where we could start to have some more fun.
On our return we managed to find a gap in which we managed to take our showers, getting rid of all that icky stuff. We ate the just fantastically yummy dinner that was supplied before our great coaches Maddo and Tash decided to take us up to Gelare and shout us all to ice-cream (with price limits!!). Now a litte story to tell about little Gemima aka Jodie and the huge ice-cream.
Jodie had got a absolutely huge chocolate ice-cream obviously too big for her. The whole walk back she whinged about the size of it and that she couldn't eat it and how full she was, each time following it up with taking another massive bite. We got back to our room and she had started the cone, with just one more mouth full she was about to throw it away with the words "I ate the cone, that's the best bit", right before she ate the last bit of the ice-cream. Guess it wasn't too much after all.
After about an hour of nothing we decided it would be a great idea for Maddo and Tash to take us down to Fast Eddy's, just Annie, Jess, Laura, Jodie and myself. After a struggle to get Maddo to hear us through her door she emerged and in her PJ's agreed to take us. Once we got outside we then had to wait for Maddo to get the door code and decided it would be fun to knock on the B's window and then hide behind the cars, which we managed very sucessfully after pointing out to Jodie the reason we had ducked behind the cars was so they couldn't see it was us.
Anyhow, on the walk to fast eddy's we decided it would be fun if we pretended to be a car and go through the drive through, we were trying to sort out who would be what and it wasn't until Tash pointed out that we couldn't all be the radio that we decided it wouldn't work.
Once inside with the huge pile of menu's we decided what we wanted and about 5 minutes after that the clicking hand of Jodie suddenly rose, after a few minutes of this the waitress got the idea after her boss yelled at her. After ordering our mixture of hot chocolates, milkshakes and Tash's Tea we discovered the newspaper. And while Jodie laughed over Tash ordering a pot of Tea, Tash looked through the romance section and her favourite saying slipped out as the waitress was bringing our things, I think it freaked the waitress out as the saying was indeed "Sexual Tension"!! While consuming her milkshake Jodie discovered something at the bottom of her milkshake and exclaimed, "why is there icecream in my milkshake?" once the fits of laughter had stopped we were able to explain to her the reason was that the icecream made the milkshake.
After we finished and Tash was full of sugar we decided to go back, when we were about to leave we were suddenly reminded of one small fact, payment!!
Our journey back to the Wander Inn was rather full of laughter and Maddo saying "Be Quiet Guys". The best part of this was seeing the other B's faces when they found out where we'd been.
It was an early night for all of us and it could of been even earlier had Jodie managed only a couple of goodnights instead of 20!!!
Sunday
Sunday was a rather fun day, with a rather early start though!! The day started with breakfast before heading off to the playing fields, this was to be the day that the Blanket came along!! Before the first match Super Gezza had been created, a superhero with a pink nana blanket for a cape.
Our first game was against Collie and it was a rather good game, it was evenly matched with scoring chances for both teams. This was indeed to be our game, we finally scored, it was just the one goal and I'm happy to say I scored it.
After this game we had a break so we headed back to the Wander Inn just to laze about for a bit before a big clash against Busselton!!
Our game against Busso started off rather easily with us unfortunately not being able to hold up to them. During the first half one of there players got a little vicious, (we will refer to this player as Number 8 The Mole), she started picking on one of our younger players and swinging her stick at a few of the others. At half time we decided to put me out on her to shut her up and I must say it sure did work. We exchanged a few words and few shoves and after i threw a bit of a wild vicious tackle and nearly got my head hit off by the Mole's stick, she was then dragged, A HUGE success!!
Unfortunately we lost this game 4-1, but the best bit is Jodie scored a great goal!!
Our Last game of the day was to be against Wolves, and definitely a tough one. However I ended up on the sideline after the warm up, our goalie accidentally kicked the ball into my head. I was kinda glad to miss the Wolves game though. Anyways the girls played really well even though they didn't win, "Another one Bites the Dust".
We headed back to the Wander Inn for showers and our dinner. Unfortunately Laura was a bit sick that night, can't remember what was wrong!!
Anyways after our lovely fish and chips we just hung around a bit before Tash took us to Gelare. The sad thing being that Tash was meant to be the responsible one at the front and the even sadder thing was tha I was supposed to be the responsible one at the back, like that would ever work!!
Anyhow we walked back with a few huge icecreams, Jodie's was just too big for her even though she ended up eating the whole thing eventually.
Well anyway after we'd got back and finished our ice-creams we went and hung out with the 13's for a while, climbing on beds, throwing lollies and shoes and just being absolute idiots!!!
We ended up in bed by around 11 and Tash stayed in our room and we would of been asleep alot sooner if it weren't for Jodie saying goodnight about 20 times and telling us all about her nightmares!!
Monday
Monday started rather early unfortunately!! We were all rather tired by this stage.
We woke and had breakfast before heading off to our final day of games, the day was miserable weather wise with the rain bucketing down.
We headed to our first game against Bunbury!!! It was raining and just as play started the lightning came, we decided that once we were 1-0 it was kinda dangerous for Annie to stay in a metal cage goal with a metal helmet so we forfeited to Bunbury and headed back to the Wander Inn and threw our shirts in the dryer.
While our shirts were in the dryer we decided that we needed to go for a drive to get Maddo and Tash a coaches present, we felt really bad getting Jodie's Dad to drive us all around Bunbury trying to find somewhere that was open on a public holiday. We eventually found somewhere and bought them a couple of presents before making a quick stop at Taffy's again.
We went back and got our shirts before heading off to play our final game against Mandurah. We also lost this game but by this stage we weren't to worried about another loss being added to our total!!
The whole weekend was a success on the good times side, not so much on the winning side!!!
Good Times, Good Times!!
